Manchester United 'lurking in the background' to sign Yannick Carrasco

Manchester United are 'lurking in the background' to sign Belgian winger Yannick Carrasco, according to reports.

Carrasco made the surprise switch from Atletico Madrid to Chinese Super League side Dalian Yifang in February 2018 and reportedly wants to return to European football.

Carrasco has started the season in China in great form, scoring three goals in two games, and has still been picked for Belgium despite playing in China.

Corriere dello Sport, via SportWitness, report that the 25-year-old's desire to leave China has alerted a number of clubs, including Arsenal, Inter and United, who are reportedly monitoring the situation.

Though it's claimed that AC Milan are the most interested party, however, Carrasco's massive wages could be a stumbling block if Milan don't qualify for the Champions League.

Manchester United make transfer strategy change ahead of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer announcement

It does appear that United are in the market for a new winger in the summer and the club have constantly been linked with Borussia Dortmund's Jadon Sancho for a massive fee.

Another incredibly talented youngster has also Manchester United make transfer strategy change ahead of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer announcement in the shape of 18-year-old Callum Hudson-Odoi.

Chelsea have reportedly named their price for the England international even though they are reluctant to selling him, according to reports.

Sport Bild claim that Chelsea have set their price at £42.5m for the youngster who is yet to start in the Premier League.

It's difficult to imagine Chelsea willingly selling their hottest youth prospect in years to a rival Premier League club but they are in a weak negotiating postion.

Hudson-Odoi's contract will expire at the end of next season and Chelsea run the risk of losing him for only a compensation fee if he was to not sign a new deal.

United would face some very stiff competition for Hudson-Odoi's signature, however.

Bayern Munich have publicly made their interest known and were unsuccessful in a £35m bid for the player in January whereas Dortmund and Liverpool have both been linked.
