Manchester United loanee Alexis Sanchez reacts to controversial Inter Milan red card

Alexis Sanchez has spoken of his delight after netting his first goals for Inter Milan but insists that he was unfortunate to be sent off later in the game.

Manchester United loanee Sanchez played a pivotal role for Inter on Saturday afternoon as his first-half brace helped them to a 3-1 win over Sampdoria.

Inter took the lead 20 minutes into the match when a speculative effort from Stefano Sensi deflected off Sanchez and into the back of the net.

Two minutes later and Antonio Conte's side doubled their lead when the Chile international drifted in at the back post to tap in from close range.

However, just one minute into the second-half the on-loan United forward was given his marching orders after he received a yellow card for simulation in the box.

Replays showed the 30-year-old went down rather theatrically in the box although he made little protest to the referee for a penalty.

Taking to Instagram after the match Sanchez posted a picture celebrating the win but claimed his red card was 'unfair'.

"Happy for the win, for the attitude of the team and my first two goals," Sanchez said. "But sad for the expulsion, for me unfair ... now to think about the next game!"

Sanchez's red card won't prevent him from facing former club Barcelona in the Champions League on Wednesday night, however he will miss the huge league game against Juventus next Sunday.
