Manchester United linked with world class midfielder as Pogba replacement and more transfer rumours

Manchester United have been linked with a world class midfielder as Paul Pogba's replacement next summer.

The French international has reportedly turned down numerous contract offers the club, and is currently not in talks to renew his deal.

With with his contract dwindling down, United will certainly need a midfielder to replace the talented 28-year-old.

This leading to reports linking Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong - seen as one of the more talented players in world football.

De Jong has been a shining light at struggling Barcelona since his arrival in 2019 from Ajax.

And Metro have reported that United see him as Pogba's replacement

The Independent via Metro claims that De Jong is also being considered by United’s hierarchy.

Barcelona’s new head coach, Xavi, ‘hasn’t been overwhelmingly impressed’ with De Jong and Barcelona could look to offload the Netherlands international as they still need to reduce their wage bill.

Elsewhere, United continue to be linked with Kieran Trippier.

The club are only prepared to sell Diogo Dalot to Roma if they can sign Trippier in the January transfer window.

Roma are interested in Dalot but the Manchester Evening News understands they have been informed by United a deal is only possible if Trippier arrives from Atletico Madrid.

United were interested in signing Trippier, 31, in the summer to compete with Aaron Wan-Bissaka and remain keen on the England international amid Wan-Bissaka's dismal form.

Finally, Spurs are said to eyeing Dean Henderson as a replacement for Hugo Lloris.

Antonio Conte is reportedly looking to bring in a British successor to Hugo Lloris., according to The Telegraph.

This had led to Noel Whelan suggesting that Spurs could sign wantaway Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson over Jordan Pickford.
