Manchester United line up vs Norwich includes Bruno Fernandes, Fred and Jesse Lingard

Manchester United have included Jesse Lingard, Eric Bailly and Juan Mata in their team to play Norwich City in the FA Cup quarter-final this evening.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has made eight changes to the team that beat Sheffield United in the Premier League in midweek, as only Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw and Bruno Fernandes remain in the side.

As well as Lingard, Bailly and Mata, Sergio Romero, Diogo Dalot, Fred, Scott McTominay and Odion Ighalo all start at Carrow Road.

Paul Pogba, Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood are among those on the bench, along with Anthony Martial who bagged a hat-trick on Wednesday night. Nemanja Matic and David de Gea are both among the subs, too, while Aaron Wan-Bissaka is not in the matchday squad.

Solskjaer talked up the importance of the cup to United's season at his pre-match press conference, as he seeks his first silverware since taking the Old Trafford top job.

"The FA Cup is fantastic," Solskjaer said. "When you are a young boy back home it was always the last game, the climax of the season, the game you looked forward to, the one that was broadcast live in telly in Norway.

"That goal against [against Liverpool in 1999] was probably my best moment in the FA Cup apart from climbing steps at the old Wembley to get my medal. I played [a part] in the first goal in the 99 final, winning the ball. That was a proud moment for me. My dad was in the stands.

"I have lifted it twice as a player. Hopefully I can get a chance to walk out again at Wembley. It’s a fantastic tournament, it’s always been the big one. I am not sure youngsters nowadays really understand what how much it means but our players realise."

United XI: Romero; Dalot, Bailly, Maguire, Shaw; Fred, McTominay; Mata, Fernandes, Lingard; Ighalo.

Subs: De Gea, Fosu-Mensah, Williams, Martial, Rashford, Pogba, Greenwood, Pereira, Matic.
