Manchester United line up vs Crystal Palace includes Fosu-Mensah and Scott McTominay

Manchester United have brought Timothy Fosu-Mensah in from the cold for their Premier League clash against Crystal Palace.

The Dutch defender is picked at left-back as United are without both Luke Shaw and Brandon Williams due to injuries picked up against Southampton. It is Fosu-Mensah's first appearance of the season - and first for United in three years - with Diogo Dalot and Eric Bailly left on the bench.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has made just two changes to the side that drew 2-2 with Southampton, as Scott McTominay comes in for Nemanja Matic in midfield.

Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes are both selected, despite being taken off against Saints while looking tired. Mason Grenwood has shaken off an ankle injury to start alongside the in-form duo of Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford in attack.

Fred, Daniel James, Juan Mata, Odion Ighalo and Jesse Lingard are all among the substitutes.

Before the game, Solskjaer insisted that he would pick a team for tonight's game alone and would not be taking into consideration the fact that United face Chelsea in the FA Cup semi-final on Sunday.

“The team selection for Thursday is based on Thursday, not Sunday," said the Norwegian. "Sunday is irrelevant, it does not come into my head at all, just Thursday. We will see with the injury situation.

“There were a couple of doubts before the Southampton game but they all reported fit on the day and hopefully we can give them time now, not having to leave players out because of injury. But there might be one or two fresh legs coming in.”

United XI: De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Maguire, Fosu-Mensah; McTominay, Pogba; Greenwood, Fernandes, Rashford; Martial.

Subs: Romero, Bailly, Dalot, Mata, Matic, Fred, James, Ighalo, Lingard.
