The Mirror claim Manchester United are giving serious consideration to bringing Rio Ferdinand back to the club as a sporting director.

Ferdinand played more than 300 times for the Old Trafford club over the course of 12 seasons.

United are on the lookout for a sporting director and it has been reported that they have already held talks with Ferdinand.

Blades reject Sturridge

Newly-promoted Sheffield United do not consider Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge to be a target in the summer.

The striker is set to leave Anfield this summer following an injury-hit few years.

Sturridge’s name has been linked but the Blades won’t risk blowing their wage structure on a player who will ask for a three-year deal.

Rabiot battle

Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United are going to battle it out for the signature of PSG midfielder Adrien Rabiot.

Rabiot has not played for the French champions since December after a public falling out with the club.

And the 24-year-old Frenchman could be set for a move to England after Real Madrid ended their interest in him.
