Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs jokes when asked for Champions League final preference

Ryan Giggs joked that he will be a "neutral" when watching Saturday night's Champions League final between Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur.

The two Premier League teams meet at Atletico Madrid's Wanda Metropolitano in the first all-English final since Giggs was part of the Manchester United side to beat Chelsea in 2008.

The Wales boss has a player in both camps, Liverpool youngster Ben Woodburn and Tottenham's Ben Davies, though neither are expected to feature in the final.

Most United fans will be rooting for Spurs to claim a maiden Champions League title, with Liverpool gunning for a sixth. United striker Marcus Rashford admitted he wants Tottenham to lift the trophy.

"I hope Tottenham win it," Rashford said.

"I hope Tottenham win but both teams have done remarkably well, so whichever team wins it they deserve it."

Giggs was a little more coy on his preferred team, though most United fans will see through his tongue-in-cheek claim that he's a neutral.

He said: “I’m a neutral... if you believe that.”

Giggs also waxed lyrical over United transfer target Daniel James and revealed he'd spoken to the Reds' academy boss Nicky Butt when picking teenager Dylan Levitt for his Wales squad.
