Manchester United legend reveals what made him happy at St James' Park - despite defeat to Newcastle

Manchester United legend Gary Neville says the Longstaff brothers made him 'very happy' yesterday, despite the Red Devils' defeat to Newcastle.

Matty and Sean Longstaff started alongside each other in the centre of Newcastle's midfield on Sunday, becoming the youngest brothers to play together in the Premier League since Gary and his brother Phil in 1995.

Sean impressed against the side who tried to sign him in the summer but it was Matty who made the headlines, capping his Premier League debut with the winning goal and a man-of-the-match display.

And despite the Longstaff brothers inflicting more pain on Neville's beloved Manchester United - who have made their worst start to the season since 1989 - Neville believes footage of their post-match interview should be shown to every young player making their way in the game.

"The Longstaff brothers made me happy yesterday," Neville tweeted.

"We see hundreds of interviews every year where players/managers are concentrated, focused and on guard.

"The purity, the joy and the love of football was amazing and it should be shown to every young player."
