Manchester United legend Patrice Evra welcomes baby son with gorgeous 'skin to skin' photo

Manchester United legend Patrice Evra has welcomed his first child with fiancee Margaux Alexandra - a baby son.

Patrice revealed the happy news with a gorgeous "skin to skin" photo with the adorable newborn on his Instagram page.

He confirmed the safe arrival of newborn Lilas Laytra Evra, who was born in Copenhagen, Denmark, on Monday, May 3.

It is the first child for former French national team captain Patrice, 39, and Danish model Margaux, 26.

Patrice said in an emotional caption on the photo: "Special moments skin to skin with our son Lilas Latyr Evra aka mister 'I love this game' Jr.

"Born Monday 3rd May 2021. I can't describe how lucky, blessed and proud I'm of Margaux.

"You were powerful not because you weren’t scared but because you went on so strongly despite your fear. You’re my rock my universe my everything!’"

A spokeswoman for the couple said that both mother and child are doing well. She added: "The family are over the moon and are enjoying this special moment at their home in Denmark."

Margaux shared an adorable photo of baby Lilas on her instagram page on Friday, saying: "Our hearts are filled with love."

Hailed as one of the best footballers of his generation, Patrice rose to international stardom as a full back for Manchester United, Juventus and the French national team.

During his time at Manchester United, he quickly became a fan favourite with his loud and charismatic personality, characteristically framed by his enthusiastic slogan and brand ‘I Love This Game’.

Since retiring from football in 2019, Patrice has presented on Sky Sports and has remained a passionate advocate for anti-racism campaigns in football, in addition to his humanitarian work with Unicef, Red Letter Days and various other charities.

Danish model Margaux has featured in numerous campaigns in her home country and internationally for brands such as Harrods and SpaceNK.
