Manchester United legend Bryan Robson has called on manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to turn things at the club and get the players back on board as it currently looks like they no longer care.
Coming off the back of a humiliating 5-0 defeat to Liverpool on Sunday, United are said to be considering their options at the managers position.
Antonio Conte is open to discussing taking over at United, though a potential appointment of the former Chelsea manager is not widely approved of at the club.
Solskjaer was in charge of training on Tuesday and it is believed he will be in the dugout on Saturday when United face Tottenham Hotspur in north London.
Former captain Robson has branded the Liverpool defeat as unacceptable given the squad was touted as potential title winners at the start of the season.
“Man United, as a club, we always give people a fair chance,” Robson said on talkSPORT. “Ole has now got to turn it around quickly.
“We can’t have too many more performances like that. Especially against the biggest opposition in the world for Man United.
“You can’t have performances like that and we need to turn it around quickly.
“These players have done it, been to cup finals, but to put in performances like that when you think the club is going forward was a real shock to the system. It was really poor.
“Last season, I thought Ole had got us going well. We had a poor start, but went on this long run without getting beaten away from home.
“You thought we were looking solid at the back, then the forwards we brought in like [Cristiano] Ronaldo, you thought we were going forward. But it looked like we didn’t care and that’s really disappointing for the fans.
“Defensively, we were getting cut apart every time Liverpool attacked us. You couldn’t pick out one thing we did well.”
Things don’t get easier for Solskjaer and United after Tottenham, with a trip to Italy to face Atalanta next week before welcoming Manchester City to Old Trafford.
