Manchester United legend David Beckham or Darvel's Darren Miller – who did it better?

David Beckham or Darren Miller – who did it better?

There’s no prizes for guessing who the Darvel midfielder chose in this particular question.

Miller opened the scoring against Arthurlie on Saturday with an incredible 60-yard strike from his own half.

The club tweeted out a video of the strike which ended up going viral as it has now passed 100,000 views.

And Miller, who has scored an incredible 19 goals from midfield this season, said: “It was a good goal, but the main thing is that we won the game.

“We went down to 10 men quite early, so my goal was the opener and led to us winning.”

He added: “It’s good scoring a goal like that, but all goals feel the same whether it be a tap-in or a long-range strike, a goal’s a goal.

“But it is special scoring a goal like that, especially when it’s on camera and you can look back on it.

“I scored a similar goal earlier in the season, and I told Si Ferry that I would do it again – and I did.

“Goals like this are good because it gives Darvel some great exposure and people see how we are doing.”

Miller’s next aim is to score as many as possible, and he needs just one more to hit his target of 20 this season.

He said: “I think 20 from a midfielder is a decent number, so I will just keep going.

“I think [David] Grant might catch me though, he is scoring for fun so I better watch.”

He added: “The feeling around the club at the moment is great, so hopefully it continues.”
