Manchester United legend David Beckham is best man at Dad's 'low key' wedding to millionaire

Manchester United legend David Beckham took on the role of best man at his dad’s glamorous wedding ceremony in London this weekend.

Ted Beckham, 73, tied the knot with millionaire solicitor Hilary Meredith yesterday (December 11) at a ‘small private ceremony’ with David joined by his fashion titan wife Victoria and three of their four children.

The Mirror reports that the family made their way to the ceremony - held at the historic Temple, part of central London’s law district, in a series of blacked-out cars on Saturday afternoon.

The Old Trafford fan favourite was joined by his sister, Louise, arriving just before Romeo - son of the former England skipper, who brought his girlfriend Mia Regan.

A spokesman told the Manchester Evening News: “Ted and Hilary Beckham would like to confirm they were married on Saturday in a small private ceremony in London surrounded by immediate family including Ted’s three children and 8 grandchildren, Hilary’s mother and her daughter, Charlotte.

“Best man was Ted’s son, David. Bridesmaids Charlotte, Francesca and Harper looked beautiful in blue velvet dresses.

“The pair are currently honeymooning out of the country.”

The iconic number seven’s daughter Harper and youngest son Cruz were also present, though eldest son Brooklyn spends the majority of his time residing in the United States.

The entire Beckham family tend to divide their time between the U.K. and the U.S., though with David the owner of MLS outfit Inter Miami, the bulk of their time is spent the other side of the pond overseeing proceedings for the newly-formed club.

Ted split up with David’s mum Sandra back in 2002 after 33 years of marriage, a move that put strain on his relationship with David, as revealed in his autobiography.

However, the two reconciled after Ted suffered a heart attack five years later in 2007.
