Manchester United learn Jack Grealish asking price and more transfer rumours

Manchester United have been told that it will cost £80million to sign Jack Grealish this summer, according to reports.

United are planning to press ahead with their transfer plans this summer despite the chaos of the last few months and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is hoping to add a winger, a central midfielder and a playmaker to his side as he gears up for a Premier League title challenge next season.

The primary target to fill the creative-midfield role is Aston Villa captain Grealish, who has impressed this season despite playing in a newly promoted side that is struggling at the bottom of the table - with nine goals and eight assists in all competitions.

Solskjaer himself praised the 24-year-old after he scored a sublime goal at Old Trafford earlier this season and MEN Sport understands United made their interest known to Villa in February to get a head start on any potential competitors, after deciding to prioritise him over James Maddison.

The Daily Mail say Villa will demand £80million for Grealish, but MEN Sport understands his valuation would plummet if they are relegated.

Meanwhile, United are reportedly in pole position to sign Donny van de Beek this summer.

The Daily Mail suggest Real Madrid have backtracked on a £45million deal to sign the midfielder and United could secure a bargain deal as a result.

Speaking earlier this month Ajax CEO and former United goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar confirmed Solskjaer's side are among the teams interested in signing Van de Beek, while MEN Sport reported in January the Dutch international was among the players being scouted ahead of the summer window.
