Manchester United League Cup clash vs Chelsea date confirmed

The date for Manchester United's clash against Chelsea in the Carabao Cup fourth round has been confirmed.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side booked their place in the next round after a penalty shootout win against Rochdale last week and were drawn away to Frank Lampard's Chelsea in the next round.

The fixture will be played at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday, October 30, with a kick off time of 8.05pm and will be shown live on Sky Sports.

The game comes at a busy period for United with away games against Partizan Belgrade and Norwich City in the five days before the Chelsea clash and an away clash against Bournemouth four days later.

Solskjaer welcomed the challenge when the draw was made after the win against Rochdale.

"If you want to win it, you have to beat the best,” Solskjaer told Manutd.com. "We played Chelsea in the first game of the season this year, we played them in the FA Cup last year.

"And it slots nicely into a couple of weeks with lots of travelling. That’s how it is.

"We’ve got to make the best out of it, and I’m sure we will because that’s the type of group this is and that’s the type of club we are. We’re going to relish it and look forward to it."
