Manchester United keen on record-breaking £75m transfer; Chelsea target former Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho as Hazard replacement - latest gossip

Manchester United transfer blow

The Mirror report that Manchester United have made Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly their number one transfer target this summer.

The Red Devils are desperate for a defender, but the 27-year-old will not come cheaply, and they could have to break a transfer record to take him to Old Traffird.

Liverpool currently hold the record for the highest fee paid for a defender, having spent £75m on Virgil van Dijk in 2018.

Blues want Coutinho?

The Mirror claim that Chelsea are mulling over a move for former Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho.

Coutinho has struggled since joining Barcelona in January 2018 for £105m and could well leave the Nou Camp this summer.

With Chelsea set to lose Eden Hazard to Real Madrid, they may well opt to bring Coutinho back to the Premier League.

Ozil talks down move

Mesut Ozil has responded to speculation linking him with a move away from Arsenal.

“I don’t think there’s a chance of that to be honest,” Ozil told  DAZN Dach  .

“I’ve got two more years here and what happens afterwards is not in my hands. We’ll see then, but I’m proud to be at this club and really happy at this club.”
