Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed Paul Pogba is 'stepping up his recovery' as he nears his return to action for Manchester United.
The French midfielder has not played since limping off with a thigh injury in United's 3-3 draw with Everton on 6 February, but is getting closer to a return to action.
Pogba, 27, was spotted at United's open training session on Wednesday taking part in a solo session away from the rest of the first-team squad.
Speaking earlier in the month Solskjaer confirmed Pogba would be out of action for the rest of February and he has been ruled out of the Europa League second leg vs Real Sociedad on Thursday night.
Scott McTominay, Donny van de Beek and Edinson Cavani will also miss the match but Solskjaer issued a positive update on the fitness of Pogba.
“They'll still be missing,” Solskjaer told club media. “They've not joined training so they won't be ready, no.
"Paul has been outside on the grass and is starting to step up his recovery but he's not near the team for this game.”
Ahead of the Europa League second-leg Solskjaer also confirmed youngster Hannibal Mejbri is set for a spell on the sidelines but teenage duo Amad and Shola Shoretire would be involved.
“It'll be more or less the same squad that we had against Newcastle,” the United manager added at his press conference. “Hannibal is injured for about a month. Amad and Shola will, of course, be involved. They are in the squad but I am not going to tell you if they are starting or not.”
