Manchester United 'issue demand to Inter Milan over Paul Pogba transfer' and more rumours

Manchester United have reportedly told Inter Milan they are only willing to do a deal for Paul Pogba if they can get Lautaro Martinez in exchange.

This Sunday Mirror report says Inter are now the favourites to sign Pogba and that the Frenchman has given the green light to a reunion with Antonio Conte in Milan.

However, it is claimed that Pogba will only get his move to Italy if Inter allow Martinez to head in the other direction.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said after Saturday's FA Cup draw with Wolves that Pogba will not be leaving United during the January window.

The Frenchman, who has not started for United since the end of September, is expected to be sidelined until the end of the month after undergoing ankle surgery.

Meanwhile, it’s been claimed that United are preparing a bid of £45million plus Jesse Lingard in exchange for James Maddison.

A separate Sunday Mirror report says United value Lingard at £40m, effectively putting their valuation of Maddison at £85m, and are hopeful of securing a deal for the Leicester playmaker in the summer.

It is added that United are willing to almost treble Maddison’s Leicester wages from £55,000 per week to £150,000 per week.

Solskjaer is said to beleive Maddison possesses both the hunger and the talent to make him a prime candidate to succeed at United.

The 23-year-old has scored nine goals and notched three assists in 23 appearances for Leicester this season.
