Manchester United 'interested' in signing Real Madrid's Vinicius Junior and more transfer rumours

Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior.

According to Spanish media outlet El Nacional, United are preparing a bid for the 21-year-old Brazilian star.

Since arriving at the Bernabeu from Flamengo in 2018, Vinicius has gone on to establish himself as one of European football’s most exciting young talents.

This season he has excelled once again, scoring 10 goals and notching seven assists for Carlo Ancelotti’s side, to help spearhead the club’s La Liga and Champions League ambitions.

United proved their willingness to spend big in the summer transfer window when they brought the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane to the club in the pursuit of silverware.

And now it's claimed United want to add yet another exciting forward in the shape of Vinicius to their ranks in the hope of competing for the top honours once again.

United have reportedly offered the Brazil star a package worth £13.4 million per year, though it seems unlikely that Real Madrid will sell as things stand.

It's reported that Vinicius is happy in Madrid and is hopeful of signing a new deal with the club, but he may demand the same package that United have offered in order to commit his future.

Such an ultimatum could force Real president Florentino Perez to consider selling the talented forward in the summer.

Meanwhile, United midfielder Donny van de Beek could be set to join Everton in the January transfer window.

Rafa Benitez’s side have been increasingly linked with a move for the Dutchman after making a failed approach for him in the summer.

And according to Spanish news outlet Sport their chances of signing the 24-year-old have received a timely boost.

Van de Beek had been linked with a move to Barcelona, but it’s claimed new boss Xavi has spurned the opportunity to sign the Netherlands star, clearing the path for Everton with the January window looming.

The Dutchman has only made four Premier League starts since joining United from Ajax last summer.
