Manchester United interested in Atletico Madrid star Jan Oblak and more transfer rumours

Manchester United are interested in Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak - according to reports.

Oblak, 27, is widely regarded as one of the best shot stoppers on the planet and reports suggest he is open to a new challenge after spending six years with the La Liga giants.

The Sun claim both United and Chelsea are interested in the Slovenia international with both their first-choice goalkeepers under pressure from below-par performances.

David de Gea 's form has dipped in recent months with a number of errors costing United valuable points. Despite his mistakes, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer publicly backed the Spaniard and refused to drop him for the Premier League draw against West Ham.

Oblak's release clause is believed to be £109million - a fee which seems wildly unrealistic given the current financial climate. However, the report claims Atletico may be willing to accept a lower offer in order to raise funds for their summer business.

With Dean Henderson returning at the end of the season, a huge move for Oblak isn't likely. Solskjaer has previously stated that he sees Henderson become first-choice goalkeeper for both United and England so he should be given an opportunity to stake his claim for the no.1 jersey.

Elsewhere, reports claiming United are in talks to sign Kingsley Coman from Bayern Munich have been dismissed.

The Athletic suggested the winger had emerged as a target for United should they fail to sign Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund and claimed talks had taken place with the German giants.

However, Bild claim no such talks have taken place with the 24-year-old who featured alongside Paul Pogba during his time with Juventus.

Coman may have been pushed down the pecking order at Bayern following the arrival of Leroy Sane from Manchester City. Nevertheless, the German outlet claim Bayern have decided he will not be sold this summer.

MEN Sport understand United remain firmly focused on signing Sancho but have eyed Schalke winger Rabbi Matondo and Velez Sarsfield youngster Thiago Almada as potential alternatives.
