Harry Maguire and Lisandro Martinez could both make their Manchester United return from injury soon, according to Ruben Amorim.
After scoring the winner at Anfield, Maguire missed Saturday win against Brighton with a knock. But Amorim’s latest comments on the England international suggested he may not be out for long.
Martinez has been sidelined since February with a serious knee injury, but the United boss has hinted that his return to team training might be just around the corner.
Here’s a look at the latest on Manchester United’s injuries...
Harry Maguire
Amorim said ahead of the Brighton match that the “knock” suffered by Maguire was “nothing serious”.
But he still elected not to name the centre-back in Saturday’s matchday squad despite deeming that Mason Mount - who was also reportedly dealing with a knock last week - was fit enough to make the bench.

Asked by reporters about Maguire’s absence on Saturday, the United manager said: “I hope to have Harry next week. It’s a simple thing but you never know, and I don’t like to take risks with players.
Amorim also told MUTV that he “hopes” Maguire will return to training next week, suggesting that a comeback against Nottingham Forest could be on the cards.
Potential return date: Novemeber 1, 2025 vs Nottingham Forest (A)
Lisandro Martinez
Martinez was said to be closing in on a return to full team training when we last heard from Amorim on the Argentine defender.
It was feared Martinez might miss a year of football after tearing his ACL in February, but he has been training individually in recent weeks and Amorim thinks he could return to the pitch soon.

Speaking ahead the Brighton game, Amorim said: “I don't know when he will be fit. He trained really well, not with us but on the next pitch and I was watching the training.
“He is feeling well and responding well, so I don't want to say a specific day or one week, but he is near to start training with the team.”
Amorim added: “Then it depends on the rhythm of Licha, if he wins the place or not.
“That will depend on him but he is closer to a return to training.”
Potential return date: November
