Manchester United injury round-up: Harry Maguire, Raphael Varane, Marcus Rashford and Amad latest

Harry Maguire has a chance of starting for Manchester United against Leicester this weekend.

Maguire was forced off the pitch in United's 1-0 defeat against Aston Villa last month and he was subsequently sidelined with a calf injury that he sustained in that match, which caused him to be absent for England's recent World Cup qualifiers.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer gave an update on Maguire's recovery at his press conference on Friday afternoon.

"Harry's just joined us on the grass this morning, that's the first time he's been on the grass," Solskjaer said.

With the United boss confirming that Maguire made his return to full training just before the Reds' visit to the King Power Stadium, the centre-back could feature against Leicester, although it's certain that regular partner Raphael Varane won't be alongside him.

Varane sustained a groin injury in France's Nations League final win over Spain on Sunday and he's been ruled out for 'a few weeks'.

Elsewhere, there has been more positive injury news regarding Marcus Rashford, who has made his full recovery from his shoulder operation after the European Championship. It's believed Rashford is finally pain-free and Solskjaer confirmed he's back in the squad.

"He's [Rashford] in the squad, yes. If he's going to start or not, I can't tell you now, because it wouldn't be right," Solskjaer revealed.

"He's worked really hard throughout the whole lay-off. He's been really bright this week and had a 60-minute involvement in a behind-closed-doors game last week, so he's fit and raring to go."

Amad also made his return to United's full training on grass on Friday morning after recovering from his thigh muscle issue.
