Manchester United injury latest - Henderson, Cavani, Wan-Bissaka, Ronaldo news ahead of West Ham

Manchester United come one step closer to nearing a total bill of health ahead of their Premier League fixture against West Ham United on Sunday.

The Reds approach the fifth game of the Premier League season in fine league form, finding themselves at the top of the table with ten points from four games. However, they are set to meet their most formidable opponents yet in the Hammers, who have also gotten off to an unbeaten start to the season.

Dean Henderson is yet to make his first appearance of the Premier League season, and Edinson Cavani has only made a brief cameo, but will they feature on the weekend?

MEN Sport has the update on the early team news ahead of Sunday's fixture between two sides with big hopes for the coming season.

Edinson Cavani

Edinson Cavani has been ruled out as he continues to shake off a knock picked up during a behind-closed-doors friendly. He missed both the defeat at Young Boys and the win over Newcastle, but Solskjaer hopes to have the striker back in training over

Aaron Wan-Bissaka

Aaron Wan-Bissaka will be available for West Ham, despite being handed a red card for a late challenge which rules him out of the home tie with Villarreal on 29 September. He will likely feature alongside Raphael Varane, Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw in defence.

Cristiano Ronaldo

Despite being substituted midway into the second half of Tuesday's defeat to Young Boys, Ronaldo is expected to feature from the get-go against the Hammers. With his goal in the early stages at the Wankdorf Stadium, the Portugal international made it three goals in two games since returning to the club where he made his name.

Scott McTominay

The dynamic midfielder underwent groin surgery after the 1-1 draw against Southampton and missed the most recent international break, where he would have played a key role for Scotland.

He is back in training now but did not travel for the Young Boys fixture, but United expect he will be back before the end of the month.

Alex Telles

It's a similar story for the left-back, who also returned to first-team training on Thursday having been sidelined with an ankle injury since July.

Like McTominay, Telles is not expected to return to first-team minutes until later in September.

Dean Henderson

Henderson played alongside Phil Jones for the United u-23's against Arsenal last Friday, earning his first minutes of the season. While the England international was expected to challenge David de Gea for the number one shirt this season, the Spaniard's early season form suggests he will be holding on to his spot for the near future.

Jesse Lingard

Jesse Lingard will undoubtedly look to the fixture against the club where he spent the second half of last season to rectify the fatal error that gifted Young Boys the win in the dying embers of Tuesday's tie.

However, the talented creator will find the starting XI tough to break into as Bruno Fernandes will adopt the creative midfield spot on Sunday. Expect Ronaldo to be dovetailed by Mason Greenwood and Fernandes in attack; still, Lingard has the potential to force his way in over Jadon Sancho, who has not set the world alight since his big-money move from Borussia Dortmund.
