Manchester United injury latest and team news ahead of Leeds United clash

Leeds United host Manchester United in the Premier League for the first time October 2003 on Sunday, in a fiercely anticipated match.

Marcelo Bielsa's side are eyeing redemption after being hit for six at Old Trafford earlier this year, though United could rotate their ranks significantly ahead of their Europa League semi-final clash with Roma in the week.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side also enter the game on the back of a dramatic week which saw his team among the six English sides announce a decision to launch a European Super League before performing a u-turn due to the backlash they received.

The Norwegian boss also has a number of injury worries ahead of the clash against the Whites, including Marcus Rashford.

“Marcus hasn’t trained but I hope that he will join us tomorrow," Solskjaer said on Friday, "apart from that everyone – of course Anthony (Martial) is injured still - has had a couple of days of recovery and a week of preparation and training.

“You need that against these. They make you go to the edge physically and mentally. They have a unique style of play and it’s a game we’re looking forward to.”

It has also been confirmed that Eric Bailly is back in contention following his recent absence, having last featured in the first-leg Europa League draw against AC Milan last month.

Anthony Martial and Phil Jones both remain long-term absentees and will not travel with the squad to Elland Road on Sunday.

United have no players suspended for the clash and, excluding the two aforementioned names, have a full squad to choose from.

With a tie against Roma in midweek, as the Red Devils push on for a European trophy, Solskjaer may choose to reshuffle his deck significantly to rest key players.
