Manchester United in 'summer tug of war' with Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham to sign Harry Maguire and more transfer gossip

Manchester United are set to be in a 'four-way summer tug of war' to sign Leicester City's popular defender Harry Maguire this summer, according to reports.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is set to be given a hefty transfer budget this summer to improve his United squad with his defence being an area of much needed improvement.

United have been chasing a new centre-half for a number of transfer windows now and have been repeatedly linked with the likes of Kalidou Koulibaly of Napoli, Tottenham's Toby Alderweireld and Ajax's Matthijs de Ligt.

Maguire is another name that is continuously touted and the England international was a target of Jose Mourinho last summer.

Now The Sun reports that Maguire 'is set to play his final match for Leicester' ahead of a '£60m transfer battle.'

Ander Herrera explains his decision to leave Manchester United

Benfica 'make huge contract offer' to ward off Manchester United interest in Joao Felix and more transfer rumours

The Sun also claims that Arsenal, Spurs and Chelsea are all 'suitors' of Maguire and 'it will take a record fee for a British defender' in order to secure the 26-year-old's signature.

The Foxes are notoriously tough negotiators and as Maguire's contract doesn't expire until 2023 they're under no pressure to sell their star defender.

Meanwhile, Juventus have reportedly 'told United their price' for Portuguese right-back Joao Cancelo.

Right-back is another position Solskjaer may look to strengthen this summer, due to the declining form of Ashley Young, the inexperience of Diogo Dalot and the departure of Antonio Valencia.

The five big names tipped for a Manchester United exit in the summer window

La Gazzetta dello Sport  in Italy, via Calciomercato, claims that the Old Lady want €60m for the right-back, who has had a mixed debut season in Turin after signing last summer from Valencia.

The 24-year-old started the season well in Serie A but his form since January has 'left much to be desired' yet he 'will not be allowed to leave for any less than €60m.'
