Manchester United identify new striker target amid transfer fight for Benjamin Sesko

Manchester United have joined the race to sign Randal Kolo Muani as they scramble to sign a striker.

United are in talks over a deal for RB Leipzig forward Benjamin Sesko but face competition from Newcastle, who are looking at replacements for Alexander Isak.

Ruben Amorim is in the market for a striker this summer and United have reportedly identified PSG forward Kolo Muani as an alternative option.

Amorim is looking to overhaul his attacking options ahead of next season and has already bought in Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo.

Kolo Muani is available with PSG keen to cash in on the 26-year-old, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Juventus.

The France international scored eight goals in 16 appearances for Juventus, and the Serie A side remain interested in taking him back to Turin.

A new centre-forward is a priority for United, but they are struggling to offload a number of players already on the books and desperately need departures to re-enter the market.

Rasmus Hojlund, who scored just four league goals last season, is someone United are looking to offload.

But PSR issues mean they can’t afford to make a sizeable loss on the 22-year-old who cost £72million.

The sales of Anthony and Jadon Sancho are also proving difficult to negotiate after Real Betis and Chelsea declined the option to make their deals permanent.

United scored just 44 league goals last season as they finished 14th, their worst-ever finish in a Premier League campaign.
