Manchester United 'identify Moussa Dembele' to replace Romelu Lukaku and more rumours

Manchester United will look to sign Lyon striker Moussa Dembele if Romelu Lukaku leaves for Inter Milan this summer.

That is according to Sky Sports News, who say United are looking at alternatives should Inter meet their valuation for Lukaku.

United have so far rejected Inter's first bid for Lukaku at £54m, and want to recoup the £75m they paid for him when he signed from Everton.

And the report says Lyon's former Celtic man Dembele will be on the shortlist should Lukaku leave.

The striker scored 23 goals in 52 appearances for Lyon in 2018/19 after joining from Celtic for £20m, but last month cast doubt on any move away from the club when he said: “I still have 4 years left on my contract, I will be in Lyon next season.”

Meanwhile, United are ‘very close’ to sealing a £70m deal for Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, according to reports in Italy.

Gazzetta dello Sport claim United have ‘relaunched’ a bid to sign the Lazio and Serbia playmaker and are leading PSG in the race to sign him. The report adds Milinkovic-Savic is ‘really close to a farewell’ but he will only join if Paul Pogba signs for Real Madrid.

Milinkovic-Savic will reportedly be in for a salary of €6-7m-per-year, although MEN Sport understands United have not indicated he’s on their radar and it’s just speculation at this stage.
