Manchester United identify future captain during Chelsea victory

Manchester United fans have identified midfielder Scott McTominay as a potential future club captain after the way he celebrated one of the goals against Chelsea.

Not many people saw it coming but United ended up steam rolling Chelsea 4-0 after a brilliant second-half performance, which was aided by some poor defending.

United did go in at half-time a goal to the good after a Marcus Rashford penalty but were fortunate after Chelsea hit the woodwork twice and called upon David de Gea to make a crucial save.

But in the space of two minutes in the second half United scored two excellent counterattacking goals, turned in by Anthony Martial and Rashford.

Debutant Daniel James would go on to score to complete the rout but it was after the third goal when fans spotted McTominay's leadership qualities.

As Rashford reeled away to the corner flag to celebrate his excellent finished he was engulfed by his jubilant teammates but one of them wasn't in quite such a celebratory mood.

McTominay was the first to reach Rashford but after congratulating the scorer he immediately started giving a pep talk to his teammates to make sure they kept their focus despite the heavy lead.

He could be heard saying: "We go again, we go again."

This has gone down really well with supporters who believes the Scot showed the credentials to wear the armband one day.

A selection of their responses can be found below:

High praise

Maturity beyond his years

Never stops

Armband in his future?

The desire

Much needed leader

Just what was needed
