Manchester United 'identify' Everton star as Erling Haaland 'alternative' and more transfer rumours

Manchester United view Everton ace Richarlison as an alternative to signing Red Bull Salzburg star Erling Haaland in the January transfer window - according to reports.

The Reds have been heavily linked with a move for the Norway international who has attracted interest from all across Europe as a result of his extraordinary goal scoring performances this season.

Various outlets are reporting that Juventus have taken the lead in the race for his signature due to their strong relationship with Mino Raiola, the player's current representative.

Therefore, the Evening Standard report Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keeping tabs on Richarlison as a possible alternative to bringing Haaland to Old Trafford. The Brazilian recently signed a new contract at Goodison Park and the Toffees will be unwilling to part with their prized asset after appointing Carlo Ancelotti.

However, the 22-year-old would tick a number of boxes for United - a pacey, goal scoring forward that can play right across the front line.

MEN Sport understand Richarlison was not a priority target prior to him signing a new deal, with both Jadon Sancho and James Maddison desired options instead.

Elsewhere, reports in France suggest United are lining up a bid for Leicester right-back Ricardo Pereira.

The Portugal international has impressed in the Premier League since joining the Foxes from Porto and Le10Sport claim United are interested in bringing him to the club.

Solskjaer forked out £50million to land Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Crystal Palace in the summer but the report adds the United boss remains eager to bolster his options on the right side of defence.

Pereira wont be available in January but reportedly has a buy out clause in his contract for the summer and Paris-Saint Germain are also interested.

Finally, the Reds retain an interest in bringing Wilfried Zaha back to the summer - as per The Daily Star.

United sold the Ivory Coast international back to Crystal Palace in 2015 after a dismal spell at Old Trafford but has since rediscovered his form with the Eagles.

Everton failed to lure him from Selhurst Park during the summer transfer window and reports suggest United are keen to bring the winger back to the club.

Zaha has scored three goals in 19 Premier League appearances this season.
