Manchester United 'identify Everton midfielder Idrissa Gueye as Ander Herrera replacement' and more transfer rumours

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants two midfield signings this summer to replace Marouane Fellaini and the outgoing Ander Herrera, reports say.

The Evening Standard say Solskjaer has identified Everton midfielder Idrissa Gueye and Sporting star Bruno Fernandes as the two players he wants to reinforce his side with after a season of changes in the centre of the park.

Paul Pogba, Nemanja Matic and Herrera have operated as United's first choice trio this season, but they have been criticised at times after Scott McTominay, Fred and Andreas Pereira have performed well when given the chance under Solskjaer.

With Herrera seemingly set to depart for PSG, United have space in midfield, with the two players said to be on Solskjaer's wishlist.

The report also links United with Benfica winger Joao Felix, claiming Solskjaer will use the lure of the Champions League to attract signings of his calibre - even if United miss out on the top four.

In order to persuade Felix and Fernandes before the likes of Real Madrid and Manchester City make an offer, the report says Solskjaer will use the prospect of Champions League football, insisting any absence from the competition will not be longer than one season.

Meanwhile, reported United transfer target Christian Eriksen has agreed personal terms with Real Madrid, according to AS.

The report says Real have an agreement with Eriksen, but are yet to negotiate a fee with Tottenham - giving United hope if they are interested.

The supposed transfer could also affect those Paul Pogba rumours linking him to the Bernabeu, with it unclear if Real would pursue two central midfield signings in the summer.
