Manchester United are considering a summer move for Atlético Madrid midfielder Saúl Ñíguez, according to reports.
The 24-year-old is said to be thought of at Old Trafford as the perfect addition to Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic in United's midfield three.
ESPN report that Atlético would demand Saúl's full €150 million (£128m) release clause to part with the 16-times-capped Spain international, with United and Manchester City believed to be interested in his services.
Saúl is said to have been eyed as a replacement for Ander Herrera, with the 29-year-old midfielder still to agree a new deal with United. Herrera entered the final six months of his Old Trafford contract in January and has since been eligible to negotiate terms with foreign clubs.
Paris Saint-Germain are rumoured to have offered the former Athletic Bilbao player a lucrative three-year deal and, while MEN Sport understand that Herrera's preference is to extend his five-year stay at the club, a move to the French champions remains a serious possibility.
Meanwhile, United are said to have included Leicester midfielder Youri Tielemans on their list of summer transfer targets.
The on-loan Monaco midfielder, 21, has caught the eye at the King Power since his January loan move and reports in his native Belgium suggest United have been monitoring his progress closely.
"We'll see what happens this summer," Tielemans, who has provided four assists in his seven Leicester appearances, said of his future. "I'm not really worried about that at the moment."
