Manchester United icon Paul Scholes expresses worry ahead of facing Nani at Soccer Aid

Manchester United icon Paul Scholes has expressed his concern about facing former teammate Nani at Soccer Aid on Sunday evening.

Captained by former Lioness and Manchester City midfielder Jill Scott, England will face a World XI at Old Trafford in the charity event. In the home camp, Scholes will be joined by Class of '92 teammates Gary Neville and Nicky Butt as they prepare to take on a team which consists of Nani, Patrice Evra, Ben Foster and will be captained by Usain Bolt.

While most of the players involved are celebrities or retired professional footballers, Nani has been playing in Australia with Melbourne Victory this season. Unsurprisingly the Portuguese winger has kept himself in good shape leading to concern from Scholes.

Taking to his Instagram story on Saturday, he posted: "Looking forward to playing against Nani tomorrow (am I f***)," accompanied by a picture of the winger in the gym. Scholes then added: "Another two weeks and I'd have been like Nani and Patrice Evra (would I f***).

"Hope my mate Gary Neville is ready for them." The former United captain turned Sky Sports pundit quickly responded: "No beer tonight please."

Both Evra and Nani saw the funny side too and sent a warning to Scholes and Neville. "Gary Neville, Scholesy, we cannot wait to see you tomorrow," the French full-back began.

"Old Trafford, home sweet home. No beers tonight, no fish and chips, we love you guys" before Nani added: "Be careful with your tackles tomorrow."

Keen to have the last word, Scholes replied: "Hahaha bring your shin pads." Those wishing to watch Soccer Aid and see how the United legends fair can do so on ITV1 tonight from 6:30pm, with kick off at 7:30pm.
