Manchester United have the 'easiest run-in'... but it's bad news for Arsenal and Tottenham

Manchester United are blessed with theoretically the easiest run-in when the Premier League restarts this week, but north London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham face tricky fixtures in the race for Europe.

That’s according to data put together by Gambling.com, which shows the average league position of United’s remaining opponents is just below 12th place, marginally lower than those left to play for Manchester City and Wolves.

The majority of Premier League teams have nine games left to play this season, with Arsenal, Man City, Sheffield United and Aston Villa holding a game in hand over the rest.

Ole Gunnar Solskajer’s side will have completed all ten of their fixtures against the rest of the Premier League’s traditional top-six once they face Spurs in their first game back on Friday night, though they do have to travel to high-flying Leicester on the final day of the season.

Arsenal and Tottenham have the 13th and 14th easiest run-ins respectively, with the pair still to face one another, and the Gunners also having to play Liverpool and Manchester City.

As far as the relegation battle is concerned, Bournemouth will be looking over their shoulders nervously, facing the joint-hardest run, the average position of their opposition being a little worse than eighth.

Aston Villa and Brighton do not fair much better but West Ham fans have reason to be optimistic, with the seventh easiest schedule left ahead of them.
