Manchester United have perfect opportunity to boost goal difference vs West Brom

Manchester United will look to get back to winning ways in the Premier League on Sunday, after they were denied three points against Everton as a consequence of a last-minute equaliser courtesy of Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Thankfully, United face West Bromwich Albion next, who sit 19th in the table and have won just one match since December.

West Brom made a managerial change earlier in the campaign, replacing Slaven Bilic with Sam Allardyce, but there hasn't been much to suggest the former England manager will be able to save them from the drop.

Their problems bode well for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's attacking players, as although Allardyce has a reputation for improving defensive fortunes, the opposite has happened at the Hawthorns.

West Brom have conceded 28 goals under the 66-year-old, averaging 2.8 per match compared to the average of two per match under Bilic.

They are now facing an average of 16.6 shots per match compared to the 15.6 before Allardyce was appointed, with a clean sheet yet to be kept under the new regime.

United don't always enjoy coming up against opponents who set up to avoid defeat, but West Brom's defence has been the worst in the top flight this year and Allardyce's arrival hasn't helped.

Although Solskjaer's men dropped points against Everton, they have been firing in attack of late after scoring nine goals against Southampton before bagging three against Carlo Ancelotti's outfit.

Ultimately, Sunday's contest will feature a team that is really good at attacking and a team that is really bad at defending.
