Manchester United 'have Jules Kounde hope despite January blow' and more transfer rumours

Manchester United's hopes of signing Jules Kounde in January have been dashed as Sevilla are expected to hold out until June unless the defender's €80m (£69m) release clause is met.

Chelsea have been heavily linked with the Frenchman and were said to be on the verge of signing the 23-year-old in the summer, only to see both two parties fail to agree on a fee after Thomas Tuchel refused to met the release clause.

Marca report that Sevilla have no intention of parting ways with the talented defender in the upcoming transfer window and hope for the big sale in the summer.

With Kounde, it is said that he is calm about his future at Sanchez-Pizjuan and is open to continuing his development in La Liga despite interest from the Premier League.

United's defensive record and their last line, in particular, have come under scrutiny and criticism after a number of shoddy displays in both the league and Champions League.

A 5-0 defeat to Liverpool is one of the standout matches in a dismal run that heaped pressure on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as well as an uninspiring 2-0 loss against Manchester City on the eve of the international break.

Also, Jesse Lingard could be in the sights of David Moyes and West Ham once again, according to reports.

The Englishman enjoyed a brilliant six-month loan spell in East London last season and performed well enough to be considered for Gareth Southgate's 23-man squad at the Euros.

Ultimately his performances didn't quite warrant inclusion but he did shine for the Hammers helping them qualify for the Europa League. Now, according to Transfer Market Web, Moyes is set to reignite his interest.

With their reliance on Michail Antonio, the interest in Lingard is said to offer versatility across the front line. Jarrod Bowen has enjoyed a good start to the Premier League season and they went into the November internationals on the back of a 3-2 win over Jurgen Klopp's side that pushed them into third.

The 28-year-old scored on his return to the London Stadium in a 2-1 win earlier in the season with Mark Noble being introduced to take a penalty and missing in the dying minutes.
