Manchester United have four-man attacking shortlist and more transfer rumours

Manchester United's four-man attacking short list for the summer transfer window consists of Jadon Sancho, Jack Grealish, Timo Werner and Moussa Dembele, according to reports.

M.E.N. Sport understands that, despite the precarious position of the game due to the coronavirus crisis, United will continue with their recruitment plans when the transfer window reopens again.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is especially keen to add more attacking flair and effectiveness to his ranks, with a winger and playmaker high on the agenda and a new striker is also being considered.

ESPN reports that Borussia Dortmund star Sancho, Aston Villa captain Grealish, RB Leipzig speedster Werner and Lyon front-man Dembele are all on their shortlist.

United's desire to sign Sancho is no secret and they are been long-term admirers of the England international, who has been a revelation since he departed neighbours Manchester City in search of first team football in Germany.

M.E.N. Sport understands that United will prioritise the signing of Grealish this summer over Leicester City's James Maddison, as it's expected he will remain at the Foxes for another season and Grealish could come at a much cheaper price with Villa's Premier League status under threat.

A striker may also be on the agenda for United, especially with the uncertainty surrounding Odion Ighalo's future and M.E.N Sport understands that both Werner and Dembele are under consideration, though no contact has been made with either as of yet.

The report states that United remain keen on the prolific Werner, who has 30 goals to his name this season, but that there's a belief within the club that he will likely join Liverpool.

However, contrasting reports from the Daily Mirror claim that Liverpool have pulled out of the race to sign the 24-year-old, as they refuse to meet his £50million release clause in a post-COVID market, which potentially opens the door for United to make their move.

Elsewhere, Real Madrid are prepared to offer United a choice of four players as part of a deal for Paul Pogba, according to reports.

The Sun suggest Zinedine Zidane will allow Martin Odegaard, James Rodriguez, Lucas Vazquez and Brahim Diaz to move to Old Trafford as part of a swap-deal.

The report describes Real Madrid as ‘desperate’ to complete a deal, hence the drastic efforts to get one day this summer despite the difficult circumstance.

Finally, Shanghai Shenhua have reportedly told Ighalo he can extend his loan spell at United, but only if he signs a new deal with them the first.

The Nigerian's loan deal at the club expires on Sunday and it was expected that he would return to his parent club ahead of the start of the Chinese Super League.

However, Sky Sports report that he could now stay at Old Trafford until January, as border restrictions may prevent a return to China anyway, but only if he signs an extension with the club.
