Manchester United have found a new warrior in Bruno Fernandes

Bruno Fernandes says he would describe himself as a 'warrior' and is prepared to go into battle for Manchester United in every game he plays.

The Portuguese midfielder has been an instant hit at Old Trafford since his January move from Sporting Lisbon and will be looking to build upon solid foundations when football finally returns.

Fernandes has made a huge contribution in terms of creativity since his move at the start of the year, while he has also given the United midfield a much needed tenacity which it had been lacking.

The 26-year-old reiterated his desire to win with United and insists he will put all personal relations to one side in order to deliver for the greater good of the team.

“Warrior, because for me every game is a battle,” told the  official club website when asked to describe himself in one word.

“You need to go out to the game and just understand you need to beat your opponent. With all of the respect, because you need to have respect for your opponent, but you need to beat them. If you don’t beat them, they will beat you.

"It doesn’t matter who is on the other team. If it is a friend, because I have friends playing in the Premier League, I don’t care. At that moment I will be the biggest enemy they can have.”
