Manchester United have Aaron Wan-Bissaka transfer bid rejected

Manchester United have had a bid for Crystal Palace full-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka rejected.

MEN Sport understands the club made an offer in the region of £40million for the 21-year-old but Palace's valuation is understood to be far higher and the bid was rejected.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is looking to bring in young British talent to his squad this summer as part of a rebuild with the club having not won the Premier League title since Sir Alex Ferguson retired in 2013.

The club's change in transfer policy from big marquee signings to young talent was reinforced last week when United announced they had agreed terms with Swansea over the transfer of winger Daniel James.

The Wales international completed his medical at United's training ground on Thursday before heading off to Croatia with Ryan Giggs's Wales side for their Euro qualifier on Saturday. An official announcement over his signing is expected this week.

James Maddison is another young talent who United have interest in as well as Newcastle midfielder Sean Longstaff.

Ideally Solskjaer wants to have his signings in place before the team head off on pre-season tour to Australia at the start of July.
