Manchester United look set for another major overhaul of their playing squad at the end of the season as they continue to search for a new permanent manager for the club.
United could push on with their pursuit of a new manager over the upcoming international break, with the club now facing another trophyless season following their exit from the Champions League on Tuesday night.
All that is left in regards to the current campaign is an attempt to rescue a top-four finish to secure Champions League football next season — missing out on it could well accelerate the mass exodus from Old Trafford this summer.

A number of first-team players are set to leave the club at the end of the campaign, with Paul Pogba and Jesse Lingard among those who have rejected new deals. Edinson Cavani, Juan Mata and Lee Grant all look set to leave in the coming months too when their current deals run out.
Failure to qualify for the Champions League could also force Cristiano Ronaldo to consider his future, with the Portuguese harbouring no desire to play in secondary European club competitions in his final years at an elite level. Marcus Rashford is already doing that, amid his poor form and decreased playing time of late.
United could also see a whole host of squad players push to leave at the end of the season unless they are given solid assurances about regular playing time under a new manager next season.
Donny van de Beek is open to leaving this summer — although he could enjoy a new lease of life if Erik ten Hag is appointed — while Anthony Martial, Dean Henderson, Eric Bailly and Phil Jones are all largely surplus to requirements at the moment and could also look to leave the club in pursuit of meaningful minutes elsewhere.

Andreas Pereira , who is on loan at Flamengo, is still expected to leave the club this year while fellow youngster Tahith Chong will leave at the end of the season if he isn't offered a new deal.
Veteran midfielder Nemanja Matic has seen his squad role diminish over recent years and could well be moved on at the end of the season, while defender Axel Tuanzebe has struggled to fulfil the early promise shown in his career.
Mason Greenwood is still suspended by the club, and it remains unclear whether he will ever be allowed to return to professional football.
Any new managerial appointment could also look to move on players who have underperformed this season, with the likes of Harry Maguire, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Diogo and Alex Telles among those yet to convince at Old Trafford. As things stand that quartet should be among those to stay, though.
