Manchester United handed major injury concerns ahead of West Ham and Arsenal clashes

Manchester United are facing the prospect of losing up to five players due to injury ahead of their Premier League games against West Ham and Arsenal later this month.

Paul Pogba, Luke Shaw, Aaron Wan Bissaka, Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard were all withdrawn from duty with their national teams over the past week, although Lingard was due to illness, meaning he is likely to make a quick return to first team action.

The extent of the injuries to the other four are still unknown, but they will all pose as a concern to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, as all five have been regular picks in the starting lineup this season. Both Pogba and Wan Bissaka have played every minute of Premier League football so far.

More information on how serious the injuries are will be revealed when Solkjaer talks to the press on Friday, ahead of the Red Devils' match against Leicester City at the weekend.

After hosting the Foxes, United have a hectic schedule to contend with, as the Europa League opener against Astana and the League Cup clash against Rochdale come in between a trip to the London Stadium on Sunday 22nd September (2pm) and the visit of Arsenal on Monday 30th September (8pm).

Solkjaer's men currently sit in eighth place in the Premier League table and are winless since their opening day victory against Chelsea. They suffered a 2-1 loss to Crystal Palace in the match before the international break.
