Manchester United handed injury boost ahead of Leeds United fixture

Manchester United have been handed an injury boost ahead of this week's game against Leeds United after Luke Shaw returned to training.

Shaw limped out of United's 2-0 win over Perth Glory over the weekend having come on as a substitute at half-time.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed after the match that Shaw was withdrawn after feeling some tightness in his hamstring but the issue didn't appear to be serious as he trained on Monday.

Lee Grant, Eric Bailly, Victor Lindelof and Romelu Lukaku — all of whom missed the win against Perth, also took part in training.

United take on Leeds in Perth on Wednesday before leaving Australia to continue their pre-season tour in Singapore, with Inter Milan the Reds' first opponents in the International Champions Cup on Saturday.

Speaking after United's win over Perth Glory, Solskjaer praised a number of his young players, including new signings Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

"Both the new lads did well," Solskjaer said. "Both Dan and Aaron. You had Mason [Greenwood], Angel [Gomes], Jimmy [Garner], the young lads... [Tahith] Chongy. All showed they can make it as a Man United player.

"And the more experienced ones did a job because we got 45 minutes out of most and it was a professional workout from everyone.

"We're happy, it was all abut continuing the good work they've done, and fitness work, get 45 minutes into most of them, and work and run when you're on the pitch and try a couple of things.

"Of course, we played against a very well organised team which made it difficult for us to create too many chances but we did enough in the end."
