Manchester United handed injury boost ahead of Arsenal clash

Manchester United have received an injury boost ahead of their Premier League clash against Arsenal, with defender Eric Bailly returning to training.

The central defender has not made an appearance yet this season after undergoing an operation on his knee during the summer after picking up the injury in a pre-season friendly against Tottenham.

The 25-year-old has been pictured back in training with Manchester United's first team on Monday morning, with Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer hinting earlier in the month that the defender could be one of the players who will be back fit for the club soon.

"We're getting players back, we're getting Paul [Pogba], Diogo [Dalot], Eric [Bailly], Tim [Fosu-Mensah] back, so that's four extra bodies back for us in the coming months," Solskjaer said, as reported by Manchester Evening News.

However, the Red Devils could be without up to four other players, who were not spotted in the opening part of training filmed by the media.

Axel Tuanzebe, Ashley Young, Scott McTominay and Paul Pogba were all absent from the first 15 minutes of the session, although the club confirm that their absence from training does not necessarily mean that they will be unavailable for selection on New Year's Day against Arsenal.

Pogba has recently returned from injury, making two appearances from the bench in the last two games, while Tuanzebe hasn't featured since the Carabao Cup quarter-final victory over Colchester United.
