Manchester United great Sir Alex Ferguson makes Liverpool FC title 'prediction'

Legendary Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson thinks Liverpool will beat Manchester City to the Premier League title.

And it will be down to Man United and their upcoming game with Man City.

That's according to ex-Stoke City striker Jon Walters who made the claim after speaking with former United defender Phil Bardsley, who spent some time with Ferguson during the week.

Bardsley told Walters that Ferguson is of the belief that United will take points off their neighbours later this month with the title heading to Anfield.

“I was chatting with Phil Bardsley and I’m gonna drop a name here, he was sat with Sir Alex Ferguson,” Walters told BBC Radio 5 Live’s Football Daily podcast.

“He sat with him and he thinks Liverpool are going win it.

"He thinks Liverpool because he thinks United will get something out of the City game.”

City are currently two points behind Liverpool following the weekend's action but they have a game in hand and a better goal difference.

If Ferguson's 'prediction' is correct the title could be decided on April 24 when United entertain at Old Trafford.
