Manchester United great Roy Keane throws support behind Rob Burrow in MND fight

Premier League legend Roy Keane has become the latest big name from the world of sport to lend his support to Rob Burrow in his battle with Motor Neurone Disease.

The former Leeds and Great Britain legend has been shortlisted for a National Television Award for his documentary Rob Burrow: My Year with MND, alongside the likes of global superstars such as Manchester United and England striker Marcus Rashford.

But Keane has seemingly pledged his backing for Burrow to win, after sharing an image of the documentary on his official Instagram account earlier this week.

It follows David Beckham's show of support last week, with the former England football captain encouraging his 66.6 million Instagram followers to vote for the documentary.

Burrow has gained widespread acclaim for his courage and bravery in his fight against MND, with other high-profile sufferers including former Scotland rugby union international Doddie Weir and ex-Liverpool defender Stephen Darby also supporting Burrow.

But the backing from individuals such as Keane, who was one of the most successful footballers of his generation, is only further likely to increase awareness of Burrow's battle against the debilitating illness.
