Manchester United great Roy Keane makes Harry Maguire claim after Michy Batshuayi incident

Roy Keane believes that Manchester United captain Harry Maguire was lucky to not have been sent off in the first half of the clash at Chelsea.

United led 1-0 at half time thanks to Anthony Martial's goal but could have been down to ten men when Maguire had a coming together with Michy Batshuayi.

The England international's foot came into contact with Batshuayi near the Chelsea bench before the home side's staff appealed for the centre-back to be sent off.

Maguire escaped punishment for the incident but Keane claims that the 26-year-old should have been handed a straight red card.

Speaking to Sky Sports at the break, Keane said: "He’s very lucky, a lucky boy. I didn’t agree that his [Son's Tottenham incident vs Newcastle] was a red card, obviously it went to VAR, and Maguire here, maybe it’s because of his personality, he’s a calm lad.

"He definitely kicks out, a lucky, lucky boy. I think it’s a red card, his personality probably helps him and they look at the package, asking if he is a nasty type of player.

"Of course, you could say the same about Son. The argument all day is the consistency because if Son was sent off, Maguire should have been as well."
