Manchester United great Rio Ferdinand explains what makes Mason Greenwood so good

Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has explained what sets Mason Greenwood apart as he continues his ascent.

Greenwood made his competitive United debut in March last year during the memorable win at Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.

The 18-year-old has since gone on to feature 16 times in the Premier League this season for the Reds, starting two of those games.

The talented forward has scored three goals in the league but has been offered a chance to prove his worth from the start in the FA Cup third round tie at Wolves this evening.

Ferdinand was naturally asked about Greenwood's ability and what qualities he possesses that others don't when the former England international was speaking on BT Sport ahead of the tie.

The 41-year-old was quick to point out that it's Greenwood's 'body language' as well as his raw talent which has seen him rise through the ranks so quickly.

"Mason Greenwood hits the back of the net and he does it with a coldness that he has been there before," Ferdinand told BT Sport.

"It's body language (with Greenwood). You can see it in their body language. Some of them (young players) are six foot two when they come out of the changing room and then they are five foot ten when they get on the pitch. They change."
