Manchester United great Rio Ferdinand aims dig at Man City fans in front of Joe Hart

Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand enjoyed his punditry duties for Manchester City 's Champions League clash at Real Madrid.

City came into the last 16 first-leg tie confident of pulling off a good result at the Bernabeu and in the end they grabbed a famous 2-1 win.

The visitors enjoyed periods of promising play but the hosts took control in the second half and opened the scoring thanks to Isco's 60th-minute strike. However, the Blues stormed back to take a 2-1 advantage back to the Etihad for the second leg next month.

Before the tie, Ferdinand stuck to his allegiances by mocking City's fans.

The United great won six Premier League titles and a Champions League medal during his time at Old Trafford and he couldn't resist a dig before the game.

Former City goalkeeper turned pundit Joe Hart was in the BT Sport studio discussing David Silva before Ferdinand was asked about the midfielder, with the former England star making a dig about there being a lack of City fans.

"When you see any City fans around - not many of them are around - but if you see..." Ferdinand said before talking about Silva.

Ferdinand continued: “If you see any of them around he’s one of the first names when they talk about their favourite players and what a player means to their club. He’s a fantastic footballer.”
