Manchester United great makes Jadon Sancho transfer plea

Jadon Sancho would have a huge immediate influence at Manchester United if he made the move from Borussia Dortmund — according to club great Jaap Stam.

The former United defender has urged Sancho to join his old club in the summer, amid strong interest from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side in the talented teenager.

Sancho could well be on the move in the next few months after two and a half excellent seasons in Germany, having left Man City behind in search for regular football. He's now among Europe's elite players and a regular in Gareth Southgate's England side.

And Stam believes the 19-year-old could become a United great if he moved to Old Trafford.

"At United, Sancho gets an opportunity to play and he can be a real influence and help them out," said Stam, speaking to  888sport.

“It’s one of the biggest clubs in the world and players look at the future and how a team is trying to play.

“They want to talk to the manager as well about the prospects of the club. Probably every club will tell him the same story.

“But when you look at him and what he can do he can be a real big influence at United should he go there.”

There will be no shortage of interest in Sancho, with Liverpool and Chelsea among the other clubs believed to be interested. He was on United's radar last summer but opted to stay at Dortmund, for whom he's notched an impressive 13 goals and 13 assists in 20 league appearances this season.
