Manchester United great Gary Neville makes worrying prediction for Anthony Martial

Gary Neville believes that Mason Greenwood will establish himself as Manchester United's first-choice striker over the course of the next few years.

The 18-year-old has excelled in the United squad in an attacking trio alongside Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial, where he has featured in a wider role.

However, Neville has predicted that the situation will change for Greenwood in the coming years as he believes he will become the club's main centre-forward.

Neville also spoke about recent comparisons with United's all-time record scorer Wayne Rooney and stated it would be fairer to compare him to his current teammates.

“I think comparing him to the two people in the team at the moment, Martial and Rashford, is probably more fair," Neville told Sky Sports before United's win over Leicester.

"I think those two have taken a few years to get to the level they are now producing. Greenwood’s doing that in his first season. He’s intelligent on the pitch, he can do things that the others can’t do, he’s a better finisher.

"I think he’ll end up taking that number nine spot in the next few years.”
