Manchester United given triple injury boost ahead of Spurs pre-season fixture

Manchester United were handed an injury boost as Tahith Chong, Victor Lindelof and Romelu Lukaku trained on Tuesday ahead of the Reds upcoming meeting with Spurs.

Lukaku is yet to feature for United in pre-season due to an ankle injury, while Chong and Lindelof were both forced off in the second half of Saturday's win against Inter Milan.

Lindelof took part in the entire session with his United teammates, while Chong and Lukaku did some lighter work away from the group.

Lee Grant was also involved after missing the game against Inter along with Lukaku.

United face Spurs in Shanghai on Thursday having won each of their three previous pre-season games against Perth Glory, Leeds and Inter Milan.

Luke Shaw returned to United's team against Inter having missed the win over Leeds three days earlier and in an interview with the MEN he explained how United's coaches have implemented a new style in pre-season.

"We’ve worked a lot on tactics, pressing-wise," Shaw said. "When to go, what sort of moments. The other side of that is to keep the ball. He (Ole Gunnar Solskjaer) wants us to play out from the back. On the front foot as well with the pressing.

"There are a couple of different rules now where you can go into the box and we have worked on that in training. Just to keep the ball more and play as a big team, a good team. We want to be winning games, but with possession as well.

"I feel we looked a lot better than we probably have for a while. Ole is more focussed on keeping the ball, playing out from the back and keeping possession. A lot of times last season we didn’t do that well enough."
