Manchester United given big transfer boost; Future of Chelsea star unclear despite impressive loan spell; Manchester City handed transfer blow

With just six Premier League games remaining, the end of the season is drawing to a rapid close.

The title race is as close as ever after Liverpool moved back to the top of the Premier League following last night’s 3-1 win over Southampton.

At the other end of the table, there’s still the small matter of relegation of the final relegation spot to be decided. Cardiff City are firm favourites to drop back down to the Championship as they sit five points adrift of safety.

However, that hasn’t ended the transfer rumour mil once again circulating, ahead of a busy summer transfer window. With all the top six set to bolster their squads once again, the transfer merry go round is in full swing already.

We’ve gathered some of the most eye-catching rumours below, as clubs begin to wheel and deal.

Liverpool fans given dramatic Premier League prediction - but where do Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea finish?

Manchester City have been handed a boost in the race for Ajax defender Mattijs De Ligt’s signature.

Former Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has advised the young defender to join the Premier League champions, or Barcelona, after describing their other defensive options as “not too good”.

According to Goal, Serie A champions Juventus are also seeking to thrash out a deal for the Ajax youngster.

Elsewhere, Pep Guardiola’s side have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of Eintracht Frankfurt striker Luka Jovic.

The 23-goal frontman has been the subject of intense speculation, with City and Barcelona, once again vying for his signature.

However, Jovic looks set to stay in Germany, after his father told Bild that the striker is concerned about his game time at a bigger club.

“He's not sure he would get any minutes at Barca. The truth is that Luka wants to stay in the Bundesliga and qualify with Eintracht for the Champions League,” he revealed.

Manchester United linked to major £113m transfer deal involving Paul Pogba; Arsenal to hijack Ander Herrera move; Liverpool eye move for £40m Brazil star

Kieran Tierney could be set to move across the border and join Manchester United.

The Scottish defender has been linked with a move to Old Trafford, with former Celtic midfielder Stylian Petrov telling the Daily Record they would have “no problem” funding a deal.

He said: “I don’t know if it will be this summer or next but I do think at some point Celtic’s resolve will be tested.

“And if a huge offer comes in the reality is you have to take it. It will take big money to get him. I don’t know how much but it will be no problem for a Man Utd or whatever.”

Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi’s future is no clearer, despite impressing during his loan spell with Crystal Palace.

The Belgian joined the Eagles until the end of the season in January but Goal.com understands that there is no deal in place for Palace to make that deal permanent.

Both Everton and Borussia Dortmund could make a play for his services this summer, or Chelsea could even use him themselves, after being placed under a transfer ban.
